Weekend Brunch and All Day Cocktails at The Court of Palazzo Manfredi in Rome

Just a little over a year from its opening, The Court, the exclusive cocktail bar of Palazzo Manfredi of the Manfredi Fine Hotels Collection group continues to lavish its guests with the signature cocktails of internationally-renowned mixologist Matteo Zed accompanied by a selection of dishes by Executive Chef Giuseppe Di Ioro and Sous Chef Fabio Sangiovanni of Aroma, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant. All these are enjoyed in one of Rome's most enviable spots which is right next to the Ludus Magnus, the ruins of the greatest gladiatorial school of ancient Rome and the unimpeded widescreen view of the majestic Colosseum. In addition to this, The Court was recently given the 71st position among the first 100 of the Best 500 Bars in the World 2020.

If most panoramic views of Rome are from the top floors of hotels, The Court instead is a level lower than the ground level. From the hotel's entrance which you cross, a flight of stairs takes you down and the dramatic scene of both the bar and the Colosseum opens up. It is flanked by two high walls with a 7-meter long travertine counter on one side and a sitting room on the other side while the amphitheater built in 80 A.D. with thousands of years of history of ancient Rome stands resplendently in front.

With the trying times and stringent safety regulations because of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Court stands by the safety rules and adapts to the current situation. Being a place frequented for early and late evening cocktails before while the current regulation orders all restaurants and bars to close at 18:00, the only recourse was to open its doors in the morning and close them at the designated time. As a result, guests can now enjoy weekend brunches and afternoon cocktails from 11:00 in the morning until closing time at 18:00. This renders a beautiful perspective of the Colosseum in broad daylight.

The proposed dishes of Chef Di Ioro that range from an appetizer, three pasta dishes and a dessert are perfect matches for the signature mixed drinks of Matteo Zed, all at €28 each. It starts with the Fassona Tartare, Concord Grapes and Tropea Onions, or the pasta dishes that page homage to Rome like the Amatriciana, Shaked Carbonara, and Gragnano Spaghettone with Tomatoes. Finally, a sweet and classic conclusion by sinking the spoon in a Maritozzo with Zabaglione Gelato and finally, the Coffee and Coffee Killer.

The Morning Glory Brunch (€35), which happens every Saturday and Sunday, is composed of a selection of a rich load of sweet and savory entries like croissants, mini burgers, fish, fruit juices, cocktails and coffee accompanied by the music of DJ Set & Performers. Plentiful is the amount of proposals in the drinks menu with exciting Cocktails and Mocktails (€20 to €23) along with a long list of champagne and spirits.
