Le Meridien Visconti Hotel in Rome Opens Roof 7 Terrace for Summer


26 June 2019, the rooftop terrace of Le Meridien Visconti Hotel officially opened its rooftop terrace, Roof 7 Terrace, bringing an effervescent cocktail night to its guests. The terrace was dressed in yellow in celebration of Au Soleil, the launching of the hotel's summer program of engaging events. Under the Sun it is for the party with the sunniest yellow motif in Rome. Scattered about were baskets of lemons, cocktail drinks like the Hugo Au Soleil drink made specially for this summer, hats, sunglasses, yellow-striped pillows, umbrellas and a bright yellow Vespa, recalling the unmistakable style of the beach clubs of the French Riviera in the 1960s.

Aqualunae Bistrot: It All Started With the Fountain of Piazza dei Quiriti in Rome


Everything revolves around a fountain in Rome For Emanuele Paoloni, a young chef who lives in the capital's Prati district. The Fountain of Caryatids, built in 1928 by Attilo Serva, stands in the middle of Piazza dei Quiriti. It is here where Emanuele grew up as a boy, and met his wife Alessandra with the fountain as the backdrop to his personal and professional story. And it is also here where he decided to realize his other dream, the place where he opened his first restaurant. In homage to the magical moment when the moon touches the flowing water of the Fountain of Caryatids, he named it Aqualunae.

Off Club: Cosmopolitan Asian Gourmet and Cocktail Supper Club in Rome


Located at the edge of Rome, Off Club opens its doors at Casal Bertone to a spacious 400-square meter space spread out on three levels of full immersion of Asian gourmet and optimum cocktails. An eclectic atmosphere with a decisively contemporary  and minimalist line, the supper club was conceptualized by Matteo Di Persio and Francesco Curcio then realized by the renowned Sicilian architect Antonino Cardillo.

Osteria di Birra del Borgo on the Beach at La Scialuppa da Salvatore in Fregene


June 21st marked the first of a series of nights of Osteria di Birra del Borgo on the Beach at La Scialuppa da Salvatore Restaurant in Fregene. Starting at 18:30, aperitif is served at the kiosk fronting the water where blankets are spread out on the sand for a laid-back cocktail experience as the sun suffuses the sky and sea with orange tones. It's one of the best ways to savour summer!

Torres Viña Esmeralda Summer Party at Madeiterraneo in Rome, Italy


24 June 2019, while the sun bathed the Roman sky with beautiful hues of orange, the Rooftop Terrace of Madeiterraneo Restaurant on the 7th floor of La Rinascente hosted a party tinged with green. Viña Esmeralda Summer Party, organized by Boldrini and Familia Torres presented Torres Viña Esmeralda Summer Edition 2014, an aromatic blend of Muscat of Alexandria and Gewurztraminer. It's a wine that the Torres Family created to celebrate the Mediterranean coasts with its fragrant fruity and floral aromas which embodies the magic of summers in the Spanish coasts. Along with the wine, Michelin-starred chef Riccardo Di Giacinto created some dishes that go well its floral and fruity flavors and delicate acidity.

Ciak Irpinia 2019: Why Irpinia is the Next Wine Region to Discover in Southern Italy


Geographically, Irpinia is largely mountainous, in the center of the Southern Apennine Mountains which runs from the Sella di Ariano to the springs of Sele River. It has a diffusion of verdant hilly areas and valleys with neatly combed vineyards and olive orchards alongside forests. The terrain is predominantly Karst, formed by the dissolution of soluble rocks including limestone and dolomite. From the past, Irpinia has always played a significant role in the viticultural history of southern Italy, especially in the region of Campania where once, the Ferrovia del Vino (The Wine Train) was running through the route of Avellino to Rocchetta Sant'Antonio Railroad. At present, with the growing importance of the viticulture in Irpinia, this historical train wine route is once again functional to go through the Irpinian wine path again.

When we speak about fish sauce, we all know how particularly pungent the aroma and flavor can be. Fish sauce is an amber liquid condiment made from fish that has been covered with salt and left to ferment for up to a couple of years. The liquid that seeps out from it is the fish sauce. In Asian cuisine, known with a variety of names, it has a widespread consumption as a sharp condiment for fish, meat, vegetables or any other salty dish that needs enhancement of flavors and it's quite recognizable for the umami flavor that it imparts for its glutamate content and the powerful smell that it effuses.

Celebrating 500 Years of Leonardo da Vinci with Fiumicino's Best Chefs


Leonardo da Vinci, one of Italy's most celebrated polymath in the Renaissance period,  was commemorated with celebrations on his 500th anniversary. Following the exhibition of some of his flight machines that were replicated in their natural size and a multimedia area with his drawings on the Code on the Flight of Birds at Italy's main airport hub, Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino, a show cooking with recipes inspired by da Vinci took place last 30 May 2019.
