Next door is the immense Salone Mascagni, restored to its original Liberty Style magnificence with frescoed-ceiling, fully-decorated walls, large vaulted windows, gilded frames, polished antique furniture and chandeliers serving as the breakfast room.

  Chef Umberto Vezzoli prepares daily from 7 to 11 in the morning, a very rich international breakfast buffet of freshly-baked croissants, cakes, desserts, fresh seasonal fruits, cereals, yogurt, jams, cold cuts, cheese, a selection of egg dishes, porridge, pancakes, salmon, fresh fruit and vegetable centifuges, choices of tea, and even sparkling wine for the ones who want to start with something bubbly.   It's open to everyone, also to non hotel guests at a price of €35.

Built in early 1837 as a palace of Count Antonio Lozzano by architect Antonio Sarti and later in 1860 was transformed into a luxury 5-star hotel. Thus Grand Hotel Plaza, which was formerly named Albergo Roma, has continued to serve its illustrious guests for the past one hundred and fifty years in its 200 rooms and suites, terraces with the views of the capital and opulent salons where its original art and decorations are highlighted. It has always been an example of one of the most antique and prestigious hotels in Rome along its main arteries, Via del Corso, hosting prominent guests in the past century and a half. Having this particularly prestigious environment, it has also served as backdrop to many important Italian and international films.
