A Bar, A Lounge & A Terrace: Achilli al D.O.M. Restaurant in Rome, Italy

A bar, a lounge and a terrace. In 2017, Achilli al D.O.M. took over the kitchens of D.O.M. Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel along the historical center of Rome in Via Giulia. Achilli al D.O.M. is affiliated with the historical and Michelin starred Enoteca Achilli al Parlamento of the Achilli family at Via dei Prefetti in Rome.

After more than forty years of activity, they took a step forward and branched out to a new kitchen adventure at D.O.M. Hotel. Enoteca Achilli al Parlamento is now on its third generation after it was opened in 1977 by Gianfranco Achilli and his wife Bianca, passed on to their daughter Cinzia Achilli and her husband Daniele Tagliaferri. Now, their son and the third generation, Alessio Tagliaferri is heading the kitchen of Achilli al D.O.M. While Alessio stays at the helm of the kitchen, Enoteca Achilli al Parlamento's Executive Chef Massimo Viglietti oversees everything.

On the ground floor of the hotel which is elegantly decorated in dark velvet and wood, the right side leads to the lounge where dining and relaxing go together with the creative menu of Chef Alessio Tagliaferri. Seafood, meat and vegetable dishes are all available with only prime ingredients used. The prices of the appetizers vary between €16 to €23, while pasta dishes are between €15 of a traditional Roman pasta to €36 for a rich dish of spaghetti with lobster. The main dishes average between €19 to €36, the latter being Catalan lobster. As for the dessert, priced between €12 to €14, the proposals are quite delectable.

Across the ground floor to the left is the exclusive bar, Achilli al D.O.M.'s little paradise of mixology. Here, bartender Patrizio Boschetto stages the art of mixing spirits and non-alcoholic drinks, original recipes and classics patterned on everyone's tastes.

Whereas the top floor, open from June to October, is occupied by the 50-seat terrace which is divided between the cocktail area and the restaurant area. At the terrace, the menu proposals are focused on simplicity with clean flavors and seasonal ingredients. And like a lot of rooftop terraces in the capital which overlooks the breathtaking skyline of Rome, Achilli al D.O.M. is no exception as the perfect place for an aperitif.
