Nami Carolina Wellness Estate in Cavite, Philippines: A Holiday Home Between a Healthy You and Nature
Nami Carolina Wellness Estate has captured the real essence of thorough relaxation with its beautiful idyllic estate and its amenities. Arriving at the fenced property after going through the country roads of the town of Alfonso in Cavite, the white country house in Cape Dutch style stands uniquely among the local surroundings. Nami Carolina, named after the Ledesma family's matriarch Carolina, built in 2020 with the original intention of using it as a getaway country home for their mother to escape the bustle of Manila when the pandemic was taking its strain in being isolated in the city.
The two-level holiday home is relatively compact at 108 square meters, built with the idea of South Africa's Western Cape signature 17th-century Cape Dutch architecture by the son, Lex Ledesma and his wife Chippy. It has a prominent central gable, whitewashed walls, gray roof and cottage pane windows with flower boxes while the interior opens to an open layout of both levels. The dining room is the central part of the house with an open kitchen to its left and a bedroom on the right. The whole upper loft is dedicated to a sleeping area with more beds. The best part is beyond the dining room that opens to porch where you can have drinks, overlooking the rest of the 3.5-hectare property in flat grassy pasture bordered by trees, two air-conditioned safari tents that are set for the spa and massages, a large fire bowl and some chickens roaming around.
Nami Carolina is open to everyone which guests can book for exclusive use, at one group at a time, whether to stay for the night with a capacity of 8 in the open loft layout setup, for the wellness program, or for lunch / dinner private dining. The house manager, private chef and butler who have worked with the Ledesma family for years provide their services during the guests' stay. In addition, the services of the wellness program are provided by the massage therapists in the safari tents. The wellness approach of Nami Carolina was conceptualized by one of the daughters, Czarina Ledesma, who owns an aesthetic and wellness clinic in the city. Do note that the spa therapy guests (reserved in advance) can access the tents without being necessarily booked for the private dining.
The private dining has three menu options to choose from with a minimum group consumption of P15,000 or about €255. Bespoke Buffet (P1000+ or about €17 per person) wherein you can create your own pizza, pasta and salad. A variety of toppings are provided for the homemade pizza dough made with Italian 00 flour, homemade flatbread dough with gluten free almond flour that are baked in brick wood- fired oven. There is also a pasta station with choice of homemade pasta and fresh garden salad, toppings and dressings are available. The second option is the Paella Party (P1200 or about €20 per person) is dedicated to the Spanish cuisine with freshly-made paella made with bomba rice such as Paella Negra or Paella Andaluz, as well as vegetable paella made with cauliflower rice, fresh garden salad, soup and starter. The third option which is best enjoyed by smaller groups is the 6-Course Degustation Menu (P2000 or about €34 per person) composed of dishes with local vegetables, seafood and meat dishes.
