Mignon alle Mura: A New Food Space In Front of the Servian Wall at Roma Termini Railway Station

While waiting for your train and having a bite with one of the world's most ancient walls as your view is an unparalleled experience. There's nothing like it. The newly-opened Mignon alla Mura, designed by the AMW Architetti Associati Studio, actually has aimed to enhance the Servian Wall, one of the most precious archaeological ruins in Rome that makes Termini a unique railway station in the world. The Servian Wall is the earliest existing defensive wall made of Cappellaccio tuff (volcanic rock) found in Rome which was built in the early 4th century BC and is named after the 6th Roman King, Servius Tullius.

Partnering with Grandi Stazioni Retail, Mignon of Tyty srl, has opened food halls starting in 2016 in the main Italian railway stations of Milano Centrale and Torino Porta Nuova. The third branch was opened recently in Roma Termini. Grandi Stazioni Retail is the private company entrusted with the management and enhancement of commercial and communication spaces within the 14 largest Italian stations in the heart of the 11 most important cities namely Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin, Florence, Venice, Bologna, Verona , Genoa, Bari and Palermo.

“We are immensely happy to be able to express our attention to art, beauty, sustainability, pleasure, in an exceptional location, protected by a special icon such as the Servian walls," declared Maria Acquaviva, CEO of Tyty. "It will be a particular emotion to combine products that have an ancient tradition with an environment that exudes history, it will be a circle of culture, even entrepreneurial, which ends after the equally prestigious and consolidated presences in Milano Centrale and Torino Porta Nuova. Reason for which I thank Grandi Stazioni Retail for the trust, esteem and opportunity."

"We are proud of the opening of Mignon alle Mura a new gourmet reference point for travelers and Roman citizens. The partnership with Mignon tells of the great attention we pay in looking for new formats that raise the quality of the offer. Mignon alle Mura perfectly fits our strategy, aimed at enhancing the characteristics of the station: no longer just a place of passage, but a sustainable, innovative and comfortable destination," declared Sebastien de Rose COO of Grandi Stazioni Retail.

Glass and wooden tables with comfortable velvet chairs and with an incredible view of the Servian Wall through glass windows, Mignon alla Mura is the perfect place to relax while waiting for your train. From breakfast to lunch, aperitif until dinner, the menu is comprised of high quality Italian cuisine specialties. The recipes are faithful to tradition but, within the laboratories, masters and technicians work daily to adapt them to the contemporary taste. Great respect for nature and the environment is also in the choice of coffee blends, Caffè Mogi, grown by local cooperatives and mainly managed by women in organic and sustainable plantations, for a rich variety of aromas, fragrances and preparations.

The offers start at 6:30 in the morning with breakfast: croissants, sfogliatella, pasticciotto and other classics of the Italian tradition with the possibility of choosing some vegan proposals. There are also small pastries with lobster tails, cannoli, cream puffs and babà, served with Caffè Mogi, centrifuges or juices. Lunch time is characterized by savory proposals with tramezzini, panini, pinse and salads. Behind Mignon alle Mura is an all-female team led by Maria Acquaviva (CEO), Roberta Virgilio (Brand Manager) and Alessandra Iasiello (Pastry Chef).
