Tuscan Sausage and Beans in Tomato Sauce

Autumn just stepped in the other day and it's a new season to look forward to. As much as I love summer, I am so ready for a little bit of cold and a change of diet. It's time to start cooking again in the kitchen and I am starting with this Tuscan Sausage and Beans in Tomato Sauce (Salsiccia e Fagioli). Sausages and beans are great ingredients for the colder months and with the first few steps of autumn, I welcome it with a delicious dish from Tuscany.

Tuscany is one of the best regions to visit in Italy because not only is the land so picturesque and the history and culture so rich but also the gastronomy leaves quite an impression to everyone. A lot of the traditional dishes have made their way from a simple peasant's table to the restaurants and even if the recipes vary a bit from cook to cook, the main substance of the dishes still remain. These are the ones that I love having whenever I am traveling around Italy and in this case, Tuscany. The sausage and beans cooked in tomato sauce has been around for centuries because no one can negate how good this simple and rich dish is.
