Rediscovering Authentic Roman Cuisine at Trattoria Verbano in Rome, Italy


Trattoria Verbano welcomes its patrons in the residential Trieste neighborhood in Rome with its convivial atmosphere reminiscent of old trattorias wedged into the modern bistrot style. Ciak Irpinia 2019: Why Irpinia is the Next Wine Region to Discover in Southern Italy


Geographically, Irpinia is largely mountainous, in the center of the Southern Apennine Mountains which runs from the Sella di Ariano to the springs of Sele River. It has a diffusion of verdant hilly areas and valleys with neatly combed vineyards and olive orchards alongside forests. The terrain is predominantly Karst, formed by the dissolution of soluble rocks including limestone and dolomite. From the past, Irpinia has always played a significant role in the viticultural history of southern Italy, especially in the region of Campania where once, the Ferrovia del Vino (The Wine Train) was running through the route of Avellino to Rocchetta Sant'Antonio Railroad. At present, with the growing importance of the viticulture in Irpinia, this historical train wine route is once again functional to go through the Irpinian wine path again.

Dimora Ulmo Ristorante in Matera: Cuisine and Art in a Paleolithic Setting

It is an elegant building previously owned by the Ulmo Family, one of the richest and aristocratic families in the city, flanked by the traditional dwellings of the Sassi of Matera, taking part in the distinctive layout of Matera.

Spaghetti with Garum from the Ancient Roman Period


When we speak about fish sauce, we all know how particularly pungent the aroma and flavor can be. Fish sauce is an amber liquid condiment made from fish that has been covered with salt and left to ferment for up to a couple of years. The liquid that seeps out from it is the fish sauce. In Asian cuisine, known with a variety of names, it has a widespread consumption as a sharp condiment for fish, meat, vegetables or any other salty dish that needs enhancement of flavors and it's quite recognizable for the umami flavor that it imparts for its glutamate content and the powerful smell that it effuses.

A Temple Dinner with Buddhist Monk Jeong Kwan in Rome, Italy


With the fundamental role of promoting the Korean culture to Italy, the Istituto Culturale Coreano (Korean Cultural Institute), between 22 -25 May 2019, hosted the world-renowned Buddhist monk Jeong Kwan, popularized by her role as the protagonist of the TV program Chef's Table on Netflix (season 3) on a series of events in Rome.

Celebrating 500 Years of Leonardo da Vinci with Fiumicino's Best Chefs


Leonardo da Vinci, one of Italy's most celebrated polymath in the Renaissance period,  was commemorated with celebrations on his 500th anniversary. Following the exhibition of some of his flight machines that were replicated in their natural size and a multimedia area with his drawings on the Code on the Flight of Birds at Italy's main airport hub, Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino, a show cooking with recipes inspired by da Vinci took place last 30 May 2019.
