The Genuine Nipponic Cuisine of Shiroya Restaurant in Rome, Italy

Something was clear in the mind of young entrepreneur Sabrina Bai when she opened Shiroya Restaurant. After extensive travels and work in Japan, she wanted to share her passion and lead the Romans to a gastronomic voyage through the Land of the Rising Sun, taking as much authenticity as she can. The soul of a country is breathed in the kitchen where history and beauty merge in dishes created by the hands of its own people. There are complexities in the flavors, aromas that emit unfamiliarity and curious consistencies. Japan is a land in East Asia composed of a group of 6,852 islands located in the Pacific Ocean. Being surrounded with water, traditionally, the cuisine has a predominance of seafood and vegetables emphasis on their seasonality, accompanied by staples rice and noodles. Only in the mid-19th century was meat introduced to the Japanese diet.

Il Capriccio di Carla Gelateria in Rome Turns 10 Years Old!

It was on the 9th of May in the year 2009 when Carla D'Ambrosio opened her artisan gelateria in the zone of Pigneto in Rome. From being an employee at the postal office, she left her work as she chose to follow her lifetime passion of making gelato. It was decided on a whim, perhaps also a selfish act, but it was for a good reason because she did it to give her son the best for his future.

Trippa Osteria: A Roman Restaurant That Specializes in Tripe

"Throughout my childhood I didn't eat tripe." That's something that you wouldn't expect to hear from the owner of a restaurant that specializes in tripe. It's an antithetical stance considering that Alessandra Ruggeri has chosen this iconic ingredient as a base for the traditional dishes at her restaurant Trippa Osteria. But things make sudden reversals as time and experiences change the taste buds and point of view. In fact, as she arrived to adulthood, she developed a passion for this fifth quarter, one of the Roman cuisine's protagonists in the plates. It is for a fact, one of the leanest and poorest beef cut.

At Gola, eating is not just for nurturing your hunger, it also connotes eating to enjoy it without sin. The scheme of restyling starts with the overturning of the meaning of Gola which is no longer portrayed as a form of sin but a play on the senses.

Host Restaurant and Cannolicchio Osteria di Mare: Four Hands Dinner

In celebration of the arrival of spring, Chef Alessandro Capponi of Host Restaurant in Fiumicino and Chef Luca Baldacci of Cannolicchio Osteria di Mare in Rome prepared a full four hands seafood dinner at Host Restaurant on 30 April 2019.

Both chefs with their own kitchen brigades filled Host Restaurant's open kitchen with a charge of activity as they prepared their guests' dinner on Tuesday night. A part of what  made the dinner special was the spectacle of the systematic bustle of chopping the ingredients, tossing of vibrant red spaghetti and dark green linguini in large saucepans, preparation of the dishes before they were taken to the tables. A variety of fresh seafood and an assortment of the season's vegetables in their dynamic colors were used in dishes as tribute to spring.
